The First Annual Students Conference was held on Sunday 19th Sept 2021 by the Department of Applied Marine Science. The goal of the conference was to highlight the students’ role in the educational operation and to motivate them for more creative and innovative activities.

The conference included a presentation on the department’s activities of the academic year 2020- 2021 given by Dr. Usama Qasim of the same department followed by another on scientific academic communication given by Prof. Dr. Wisam R. Mutashar from the Marine Science Centre. The top five graduation projects of 2020- 2021 were presented by the students who were rewarded with the top three students with certificates of appreciation by the head of the department Prof. Dr. Wisal F. Hasan. The conference ended with several recommendations including developing the managerial system, founding English language courses to help improve the students’ and researchers’ linguistic academic abilities.
