The College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basra is organizing a unique scientific trip to learn about environmental sample testing and analysis techniques.

The College of Marine Sciences organized a specialized scientific field trip for third-year students as part of the requirements for the Environmental Chemistry course. The trip, supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Muayad Hassan Mohammed and Assistant Professor Dr. Salah Mahdi Saleh, took place at the Basra Oil Company's Laboratories and Quality Control Department in the Nahr Bin Omar area. This initiative reflects the college's commitment to promoting applied education and fostering collaboration with leading institutions in the oil sector.

The visit included a comprehensive scientific program during which students learned about laboratory procedures and the testing and analysis methods used to assess water quality and environmental samples. They also encountered the latest technologies employed in monitoring pollutants and quality control.

The trip also included a tour of specialized laboratories, where students were introduced to advanced scientific equipment and its applications in environmental diagnosis and analysis. This experience reinforced theoretical concepts and enhanced students' practical skills according to modern scientific standards.

The students expressed their deep appreciation for this valuable scientific experience, emphasizing its importance in honing their skills and preparing them for the job market. This initiative is part of the college's strategy to prepare qualified scientific personnel capable of supporting environmental protection efforts and serving both the environmental and oil sectors.

The College of Marine Sciences appreciates the constructive cooperation of the Basra Oil Company and its Laboratories and Quality Control Department in making this scientific visit a success, and looks forward to further partnerships that contribute to the development of the educational and research process.
