The University of Basra organizes an awareness seminar on the role of university discipline in confronting electronic blackmail.

The College of Marine Sciences, through its University Follow-up Department and the Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra, organized an awareness seminar on the role of university discipline in combating cyber extortion.

The seminar aimed to educate students about the importance of university discipline and raise their awareness of the dangers of cyber extortion and how to deal with it, in addition to strengthening the sense of responsibility and belonging among students and faculty members.

The seminar, presented by several professors, included Mr. Sajjad Sabah Adham from the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, Ms. Azhar Kamel Nasser from the College of Marine Sciences, and Ms. Duaa Mohammed Khalifa from the College of Education for Women.

The seminar focused on providing a comprehensive definition of cyber extortion and its various forms, and reviewed its negative effects on individuals and society. It also addressed mechanisms for dealing with extortion cases and discussed the importance of university discipline as an effective means of protection and ensuring a safe learning environment.

At the conclusion of the seminar, a number of practical tips and guidelines were presented to enhance general awareness within the university community on how to confront the challenges associated with cyber extortion.
