In accordance with directives issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the direct guidance of the University of Basra, and with the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim Al-Asadi, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Marine Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Qasim Khalifa, and the Scientific Assistant, Professor Dr. Nawras Abdulghani Abdul Zahra, the College announced its active participation in the comprehensive national campaign aimed at strengthening the university's leading role in serving the community and achieving sustainable development.

The College's participation includes a range of field activities, including tree-planting campaigns and the rehabilitation of green spaces to increase green areas within the university campus.

The College also planted various seedlings in specific areas within the campus to improve the environment and enhance its aesthetics. These seedlings served as an important step towards raising environmental awareness among students and the local community, as everyone participated in their care and planting, thus fostering cooperation and a sense of responsibility.
