Towards Creative Female Leadership: Educational Lectures on Leadership and Women's Rights at the College of Marine Sciences

The Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Marine Sciences, in cooperation with the Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit and the Human Rights Unit, held two lectures on "Culture, Creativity, and Leadership" and "Women's Rights in Iraqi and International Law" on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in the conference hall.

The lectures provided an opportunity for students and interested individuals to learn more about the role of women in various fields. The lectures were delivered by Ms. Nour Al-Huda Hassan Al-Asadi, who discussed the importance of leadership and creativity among women, and by lawyer Fatima Naji Qasim, who summarized women's rights as stipulated in Iraqi and international laws.

The lectures covered several important topics, including:

- The concept of leadership and its importance in building societies.

- How women can play an effective role in leadership positions.

- Laws related to women's rights and how to implement them.

- The challenges women face in obtaining their rights.

The lectures aimed to raise awareness of the importance of women's role in society, inform participants of their legal rights and responsibilities, and present inspiring examples of female leadership.

At the conclusion of the two lectures, the lecturers were honored with a certificate of appreciation and a letter of thanks from Dr. Kazimiya Jawad Abdullah, Secretary of the College Council and Head of the Women's Affairs Unit, and Assistant Professor Dr. Muayyad Hassan Al-Bahadli, Head of the Department of Applied Marine Sciences, in recognition of their valuable efforts in enriching the intellectual community and addressing women's rights issues.
