
The Department of Natural Marine Sciences at the College of Marine Sciences organized a scientific trip for first-year students to the General Company for Iraqi Ports - Maqal Port, as part of the scientific activities that aim to enhance the practical aspect of students.
The trip included a field tour inside the port, where students learned about the mechanisms of work in seaports, in addition to learning about navigation systems and maritime transport procedures. They also listened to a detailed explanation by specialists about the role of ports in maritime trade and their economic importance.
This visit comes within the framework of enhancing the applied knowledge of marine science students and preparing them practically for the labor market, as such trips contribute to linking theoretical aspects with real-life experiences.
