The Department of Media and Government Communication and the Department of University Follow-up at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Islamic Cultural Center of the South, organized the central memorial festival on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the martyrdom of the heroic leaders of victory.

The memorial ceremony included reading verses from the Holy Quran, in addition to reciting Surat Al-Fatihah in memory of the souls of the two martyrs and the souls of the martyrs of the holy Popular Mobilization Forces. The festival also included enthusiastic speeches highlighting the role of the martyrs in defending the homeland, in addition to reciting poems expressing love for the homeland and the sacrifices of the heroes.

The festival witnessed a large attendance of academics, intellectuals and university students, who stressed the importance of remembering this great occasion and honoring those who sacrificed their lives in defense of the dignity and freedom of Iraq.
