On Sunday, October 13th 2022, the Department of Natural Marine Sciences conducted a field trip to the Division of Aquaculture Breeding and Propagation in Al-Hartha District of the Directorate of Agriculture of Basrah City. The trip is a practical activity of the Fish Farming and Propagation Course. Students were accompanied by Course teachers Prof. Dr. Nawras Abd Al-Ghani and Dr. Abdullah Najim. 
The host was Dr. Ahmed Munther, head of the Divison, who gave a full explanation of the nature of the work in the hatchery and the projects and experiments that were conducted in the division. After that, a tour was conducted in all the basic and auxiliary hatching facilities to identify their purpose, how to install them and their working mechanism, as well as see how to establish fish breeding ponds and canals. Water supply and drainage, the procedures used to maintain water quality and feed preservation were also presented.
