Prof. Dr. Abdul Hussein Hatem Ghazi, from the College of Marine Science, has authored a booklet on the basics of marine shrimp farming. The first chapter of the booklet presented the requirements of marine shrimp hatchery, types of hatcheries, and the water quality required when cultivating marine shrimp.

The second part of the booklet dealt with the methods of breeding marine shrimps, obtaining breeding mothers, transporting and acclimatization activities, and ideal procedures to accomplish the breeding activities successfully. The third part of the booklet introduced the hatching and sponsoring larvae for different phases and the significant requirements to ensure the highest survival rate. And the fourth part of the booklet dealt with raising marine shrimp in outdoor ponds starting from preparing ponds to feeding operations.
