University of Basra is changing the workshop on the philosophy of salt technology for fish.

The College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basra organized a workshop on "The Physiology of Salt and Thermal Adaptation in Fish in the Arabian Gulf."

The workshop aimed to introduce the physiological mechanisms that enable fish to adapt to changes in salinity and temperature, and the importance of these adaptations in maintaining biological balance and the sustainability of fish stocks in the marine environment.

The workshop included a scientific lecture presented by researcher Noor Riyadh Hussein, who reviewed the most prominent physiological strategies employed by fish, the role of gills and kidneys in regulating osmotic balance, and mechanisms for responding to heat stress. She also discussed the impact of climate change, rising temperatures, and increased salinity on biodiversity in the Arabian Gulf.
