An official delegation from the College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basra, headed by the Dean, Professor Dr. Osama Qasim Khalifa, and accompanied by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Nawras Abdul Ghani Abdul Zahra, visited the headquarters of the Naval Forces Command.
The visit was to extend sincere congratulations to Commander Hisham Taher Hammadi Al-Hashemi on assuming his post as Commander of the Naval Forces, wishing him success in fulfilling his national duties to protect the nation's waters and enhance its maritime security.
The meeting included discussions on ways to strengthen joint scientific and academic cooperation between the College and the Naval Forces Command. The talks focused on activating coordination mechanisms in the fields of marine research, exchanging consulting expertise, and developing skills to enhance the efficiency of national personnel in the maritime sector, thus serving the public interest and supporting the development and integration between academic and military institutions.
For his part, the Commander of the Naval Forces expressed his gratitude to the College Dean for this initiative, emphasizing the Command's openness to supporting scientific and research initiatives that contribute to the development of the marine sciences sector in Iraq.
