Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Amteighi, a faculty member in the Department of Applied Marine Sciences at the College of Marine Sciences, participated as a member of the doctoral dissertation defense committee for student Nizar Shatei Nweir Shaher in the Chemistry Department at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, University of Basra. The committee, chaired by the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, examined the dissertation entitled: "Synthesis and Characterization of Compounds Derived from Benzothiazole and Oxazole and Study of Their Liquid Crystalline Properties."

At the conclusion of the defense, Dr. Amteighi received a letter of appreciation from the Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences in recognition of his distinguished efforts and active participation in enriching the dissertation.
