The College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basra continues to hold its periodic meetings to monitor the educational process and enhance academic performance, in accordance with the directives of the university's presidency.
Accordingly, the College Council held its periodic meeting, chaired by the Dean, Professor Dr. Osama Qasim Khalifa, and attended by the Vice Deans for Scientific and Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Nawras Abdulghani Abdul Zahra and Professor Dr. Abdul Hussein Hatem Ghazi, respectively, as well as the Secretary of the College Council, Dr. Kadhimiya Jawad Abdullah. Also participating were the Head and members of the Applied and Natural Sciences Department Council, the Director of the Quality Assurance Division, and the Director of Student Affairs.
The meeting discussed a number of topics related to academic affairs, most notably monitoring the implementation of semester requirements and reviewing the progress of teaching assignments. It also explored mechanisms for developing academic performance in line with the directives of the College Dean and the University Presidency. Furthermore, the meeting addressed ways to enhance the quality of education and explored avenues to support scientific research and stimulate academic activity within the College.
The Dean emphasized the importance of teamwork and enhanced coordination between the Dean's office and the academic departments, commending the department council's efforts in supporting the educational process and improving performance to achieve the college's goals.
This meeting is part of a series of periodic meetings held by the college to ensure the quality of academic and administrative work and to raise the level of educational outcomes in a way that serves students and strengthens the educational institution.
