As part of the scientific activities of our faculty, Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Adel Mazhar, a faculty member in the Department of Applied Marine Sciences, participated as a member of the committee that discussed the Master's thesis of student Fatima Waleed Abdul-Amir at the College of Science/Department of Life Sciences, University of Basra. Her thesis was titled: "The correlation between biofilm formation genes and antibiotic resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii isolates from hospitalized patients and the preparation of a new compound as an antibacterial agent."
