The Department of Natural Marine Sciences at the College of Marine Sciences, University of Basra, organized a field trip for graduate student Sajjad Khalid Mohsen on Thursday morning, April 9, 2026. The trip included visits to Iraqi marine areas in the Shatt al-Basra and Khor al-Zubair waterways.

This trip was supervised by Professor Dr. Abdul Hussein Hatem Ghazi, Administrative Assistant at the College of Marine Sciences, and Dr. Ashwaq Talib Abbas, as part of the field support provided for the student's master's thesis project. The trip involved collecting the necessary scientific samples and specimens in preparation for the practical work in the college laboratories and to fulfill the requirements of his thesis.
