The College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basra showcases its innovations at the Entrepreneurial Projects Exhibition, in the presence of the University President.

On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, the College of Marine Sciences participated in the Entrepreneurial Projects Exhibition, under the patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi. The exhibition was held in the lecture hall complex at the College of Engineering, University of Basrah, and featured two pioneering projects.

The first project, prepared by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Nawras Abdul-Ghani Abdul-Zahra, and Assistant Lecturer Zahraa Adel Rahima, was titled "Developing a Sustainable Local Fishmeal for the Aquaculture Sector to Reduce Reliance on Imports."

The second project, prepared by Assistant Professor Dr. Imad Jassim Al-Shawi and graduate student Zuhur Talib Hussein, was titled "Designing a Seawater Quality Monitoring System."

The University President and the Vice President for Scientific Affairs visited the College of Marine Sciences' booth, where researchers provided detailed explanations of the benefits of these projects. The University President praised the importance of these pioneering projects, noting that they address issues relevant to both the public and private sectors.
