College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basra: A campaign to beautify the campus by planting trees and green spaces

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Marine Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Qasim Khalifa, and Professor Dr. Nawras Abdul Ghani Abdul Zahra, the Human Rights Unit, in cooperation with the Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit and the Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Marine Sciences, University of Basra, organized a campaign to plant trees and cultivate green spaces.

The college launched a large-scale volunteer campaign, supervised by Assistant Lecturer Alaa Al-Din Karim Atshan, Head of the Human Rights Unit. A number of professors and students participated in the campaign, which included planting various rose seedlings, pruning trees, landscaping gardens, and improving walkways to enhance the college's aesthetic appeal.

The campaign aims to instill a culture of volunteerism in students and encourage them to preserve the vibrant university environment. This initiative reflects a broader cultural, environmental, and aesthetic awareness, embodying a sense of responsibility, brotherhood, and cooperation between faculty and students in service of the academic journey.
