A research team, led by Professor Dr. Abdul Hussein Hatem Ghazi, Administrative Assistant at the College of Marine Sciences, and including Dr. Ashwaq Talib Abbas, Master's student Sajjad Khalid Mohsen, and graduating students Zahraa Haider Jawad and Zahraa Jassim Khamis, conducted a scientific expedition to the intertidal zones in Iraqi waters off Basra Governorate on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

This expedition was part of a Master's student project and the completion of projects for fourth-year students in the Department of Natural Marine Sciences. The scientific aspects of the work assigned by the college were finalized during the expedition.
