Enhancing Academic Quality: Strategic Decisions at the College of Marine Sciences Council Meeting

The College of Marine Sciences held a College Council meeting on Monday, October 6, 2025. The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College, Professor Osama Qasim Khalifa, and attended by college assistants, department heads, the Director of Student Affairs, the College's Graduate Studies Officer, and the Quality Officer.
The College Council Rapporteur, Dr. Kazimiya Jawad Abdullah, presented the most important ministerial instructions and directives from the University Presidency.
The Dean then discussed the most important issues on the session's agenda, emphasizing:
_ The importance of completing the academic description according to quality requirements.
_ Directing the Director of the Student Affairs Division to complete the registration of students in the SIS program.
_ Directing the heads of academic departments to follow up on the progress of graduate student projects and to maintain schedules and lectures for undergraduate students.
_ Emphasizing the need to maintain regular working hours for faculty and staff, and ensuring that students adhere to the uniform in accordance with ministerial instructions.
_ Discussing academic promotions due at the College and making recommendations regarding them.
_ Several organizational and administrative matters were discussed that would enhance the academic and scientific level.
