The Dean of the College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basra, Asst. Prof. Dr. Osama Qasim Khalifa, participated in the discussion committee for the dissertation of graduate/doctoral student Basma Asaad Ahmed from the Department of Earth Sciences in the College of Science. Her dissertation was titled:

"Sedimentology and Stratigraphy of Eocene-Miocene Succession in the Central and Southern Iraq"

The discussion took place in the discussion hall of the College of Science at the University of Basra.

The dissertation covered a detailed study of the sedimentary and stratigraphic sequences dating back to the Eocene-Miocene period in central and southern Iraq, explaining the sedimentary environments and geological evolution of the region.

The Dean's participation comes within the framework of scientific cooperation and exchange of expertise between the various colleges and scientific departments at the University of Basra, contributing to enhancing the university's academic and research level.
