On Thursday, June 19, 2025, two lecturers at the College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Hamid Talib Al-Saad and Prof. Dr. Abdul-Hussein Hatem Ghazi, participated in the discussion committee for the doctoral thesis of the student (Buthaina Mahdi Younis) in the Department of Life Sciences at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Manal Muhammad Akbar and Prof. Dr. Majida Sabah Abdul-Sayed. The thesis dealt with the bioremediation of annelid worms in removing petroleum hydrocarbons and some heavy metals in Basra Governorate. The results showed the possibility of highly efficient treatment of this type of worms.
