A massive afforestation campaign began in the gardens of the College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basra in response to the invitation of the Prime Minister on the occasion of National Afforestation Day.

Where a number of trees were planted in
 College gardens in the presence of the Honorable Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Qasim Khalifa, and the Honorable Assistant Dean, Professor Dr. Abdul Hussein Hatem Ghazi.

With personal efforts, a campaign was undertaken to plant trees in the college with different types of seedlings, and with the help of the teaching staff at the college, with the aim of providing a green environment and breathing room for the students’ children.
