The College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basra organized a scientific trip to the northern port of Umm Qasr, accompanied by third and fourth year students within the course of marine geochemistry and coastal zone management.

The delegation met with the Director of Umm Qasr North Port and Senior Chief Engineer, Abdul Sada Khalaf Finjan. The college delegation was welcomed and it was agreed to conduct joint cooperation in terms of facilitating field work for project students and informing the students about the tourist coast of the port, which motivated them to put forward research ideas for developing and managing the area.

The trip was supervised by Dr. Wissal Fakhry
Dr. Donia Khairallah, Dr. Jassim Hussein Abdullah, Dr. Diaa Abbas from the Ports Company, and the teacher Rahaf Fadel and his graduate students, where it was agreed to undertake sea trips to inform the students about the reality of the Iraqi coast.
