The College of Marine Sciences holds a scientific workshop on morphotectonic phenomena and archaeological hills

On Monday, 21st November 2022, a scientific workshop on "Identification and Analysis of Morphotectonic Phenomena and the Archaeological Hills of the Mesopotamia Valley in Southern Iraq Using Remote Sensing Techniques and Geographic Information Systems" was presented by Dr. Milad Ali Hussein from the Department of Applied Marine Sciences. The workshop was about a study aimed at identifying ancient canals and irrigation canals, as well as archaeological sites buried under the surface in the Mesopotamia Basin region in southern Iraq, mapping their locations and extent, trying to study the forms of these phenomena and discussing the possible causes from the geological, geomorphological and human point of view.
