A delegation from the College of Marine Sciences visited the Arabian Gulf Academy for Marine Studies

On Thursday morning, 4/4/2024, a delegation from the College of Marine Sciences visited the Arabian Gulf Academy for Marine Studies.

Scientific Assistant Prof. Dr. Nawras Abdel Ghani and Administrative Assistant Prof. Dr. Abdul Hussein Hatem Ghazi, Head of the Department of Applied Marine Sciences, Prof. M.D. Moayed Hassan Muhammad, and Head of the Department of Natural Marine Sciences, Prof. M.D. Amal Ahmed Mahmoud and a number of teaching staff at the college

The delegation was received by the President of the Arabian Gulf Academy for Maritime Studies, Lieutenant General Dr. Ahmed Omran Abdel, the assistant officers and a number of academy officers.

The visit aimed mainly to consolidate scientific cooperation in various maritime aspects and expand the horizon of this cooperation in graduate studies, mutual lectures, and the exchange of various technical and scientific experiences.

On the other hand, the possibility of using scientific laboratories and scientific diving pools at the academy in educational matters for students of the College of Marine Sciences was discussed.

After that, the President of the Academy, Lieutenant General Dr. Ahmed Omran Abd, accompanied the college delegation on a tour of the academy’s corridors, including scientific conference halls, laboratories, and others.

The delegation also viewed the planetarium, ship simulation laboratories, marine navigation, and types of marine engines.

After the end of the visit, our college delegation expressed its great gratitude and thanks for the warm reception and welcome. The Dean thanked the efforts of Lieutenant General Ahmed Omran Abd in his keenness to work and build bridges of scientific cooperation with various institutions, including our college.

During the meeting, the Brigadier General received a draft in which he identified the most important points of the future memorandum of understanding between the two sides.

For his part, the Dean promised to study the points in the memorandum in consultation with the College Council and confirm our college’s observations on them with the aim of signing this memorandum and having it enter into force between the two parties and in a way that serves the public interest and our dear country.
